Rightly or wrongly, I believe that top placements in Bing, and in Yahoo to a certain extent, have a great deal to do with the keyword(s) being in the domain, and right now this is helping me no end, after all, who would ever think that a virtually new site (created July 2009) would be right at the top of those 2 major search engines six months later for a fairly hefty search term such as
cheap camping France out of over 5 million results when there are masses of older sites with huge amounts of backlinks below it?
Of course, it helps to have submitted your site to Bing first, but surely, all those other webmasters will have done the same long ago? I'm certain that the domain has a far larger impact in Bing than it does in Google, and of course, it will hopefully have the same effect in Yahoo early in 2010 when Bing takes over Yahoo search. Bring it on!
I am not an authority on SE's in any way but I'm certainly taking the precaution of having the main keyword in the Domain name with any new sites from now on. And yes, those domains are still to be found if you use a little imagination.
