Merry Xmas everyone,
2009 has been an interesting year. Hopefully 2010 will be even better. During 2010 I have learnt a few things.
1. Don't put all your traffic hopes into Google
Google is by far the most popular source of my traffic, but during the year I found that Stumble Upon sent me nearly as much traffic and the traffic responded well to my posts.
2. Set up a small network of websites
I found that setting up a small network of websites helped my stay at the top of Googles search results. Holding on to top spots in Google takes some work on your side. So setting up a network (wordpress, squidoo, hibpages, blogger)of websites all backlinking back to your money website does work.
3. People don't like Messageboards
This lesson was the hardest to understand. I setup this Messageboard think that it would be a fantastic addition to WebSeo. WRONG! People will not use a forum unless there is something in it for them. So in 2010 I have to rethink the Messageboard idea. What can I do to encourage followers to use the Messageboard? If you have any ideas, please let me know.
well Father Xmas is nearly here and I have to go to bed. I have been a good boy this year, so there's no reason why St Nick won't leave the Nissan Patrol I wished for. LOL
Merry Xmas from me to you and yours and a very merry New Year.
Steve
