NoDoFollow 1.1 Firefox Plugin

by admin on January 11, 2009 · 37 comments

It was requested after I wrote the “dofollow” post if Firefox had an addon that would help us find “nofollow” and “dofollow” links on a website.

Well after a lot of research and a couple of calls I was able to track down a free Firefox addon that will highlight the “dofollow” and “nofollow” links on a websites.

NoDoFollow 1.1 Firefox Addon

Download NoDoFollow 1.1 here

From the image bellow, you can see how the NoDoFllow addon works. Once you have downloaded the Addon and then reloaded your Firefox browser, click file and then select NoDoFollow. You will notice that the links on the page will turn either red or blue.

Red: These are links that have the “nofollow” attribute attached and are links that Google will not follow.
Blue: These are links that have the “dofollow” attribute attached and are links that Google will follow.

Here is an image that shows the Addon in action.

Checking the source code i another excellent way to find out if there is a nofollow on a link, but having the plugin do it for you makes the job so easy. Jonathan leger gave me a Google search query that also made looking for dofollow links easy, but I lost it. I should ask Jonathan for it again and I will send it to my list.

NoDoFollow 1.1 no longer work on FireFox 3.6

admin (112 comments) January 23, 2010 at 10:36 pm

I have been told by Firefox to update then automatically update to the latest version of each firefox addon.

Scott (1 comments) January 28, 2010 at 1:15 pm

Yes, but no update can be found for the NoDoFollow plugin when you do that.

You can use the “SEO for Firefox” tool to do the same thing since the NoDoFollow plugin is not working with Firefox 3.6.

Paik (1 comments) February 13, 2010 at 4:06 am

Web Design Darwin (2 comments) May 28, 2010 at 2:09 am

I prefer Chrome to Firefox. Even though it doesn’t quite have as many addons I find it to be much faster. Chrome SEO is a similar plugin that shows nofollow plus alot more.

admin (112 comments) May 28, 2010 at 4:25 am

Haven’t tried Chrome yet, but I must. Any browser that is faster than Firefox and IE has to be good. Wish we had the weather you have at the moment :)

Cheers

Steve

@Web Design Darwin: I agree that chrome is faster than firefox, But I always prefer firefox coz it has lots of useful addons that makes SEO much easy.

Thanks for posting this! I found this add-on in Firefox, but had no idea which color was dofollow and which was nofollow. I would have thought that info would have been posted somewhere on there, but I didn’t see it. Now, I know.

Good blog, as you say As if on a DoFollow blog-web page will be highlighted in blue and all links with the NoFollow attribute attachment will be highlighted in pink. This issue I totally agree with you. Besides, I still see the Web site NoFollow not marked with pink. In your opinion, how to recognize when this situation occurs? Keep updating. Thanks
