As a website owner and probably one of the main advantages of adding a Blog to your website is the fact that once you have added some new content to your website you can Ping (automatically tell) a heap of other websites once you click the Publish button.
WordPress is my favoured content management system and built in is a service called the Ping Utility. The WordPress Ping Utility sends a message to a list of Ping Service Providers, who in turn tell the search engines and directories, which then come calling to have a look at your new content. All of this is done in the background automatically. The only thing you have to do is add the Ping Service Providers.
Be cautious when Pinging
Below is a list of Ping Service Providers that have been cleaned to make sure they are active. There are no duplicates and as long as you don’t over do your pinging, you should be able to get the search engine bots visiting your website withing minutes of posting new content.
If you don’t have a Blog and you don’t want to add one, but would like the benefits of pinging, you can visit Ping-O-Matic , Pingler or a service I have just found called Feed Shark were you will be able to Ping a normal website.

Be very careful when using Ping Service providers. Do not Ping your content more than once or you might be banned and blacklisted as a Ping Spammer.

Thanks for the list!
I think one thing many people don’t understand when it comes to pinging, is that Wordpress pings every time you update your content. This can get easily be overdone when adding an amending content and cause you to be banned from ping services.
There is a plugin that helps with this called Maxblogpress Ping Optimzer.
Very good tip!!. I should have mentioned that when I wrote the article. Because most blogging platforms have a pinging system of one king or another, you do have to be careful, because each time you make a change, correction or even down to changing a price, the Pinging service will send off a Ping to say somethings been updated on your website. Which can if done often, cause your account to be cancelled because of Ping Spamming. Maxblogpress does have a plugin that will help and you can find it here: http://www.maxblogpress.com/plugins/mpo/
thanks for the list, but how to use it with wordpress??
Hi Techkol
To use the list you need to copy paste it into your Update Service. You will find this by going to Settings the Writing and at the bottom of the page look for Update Service. Paste the list in there and then click Save Changes.
Webseo
it was quite comfortable to go thru your page
and to get all these ping providers at one place is very good work
keep it up man
Thanks for this information. It clarified whether I could put more than one service in the ping box. Easy to read article.
Hey admin,
Thanks! I just knew the name of Ping-o-matic and Pingler but Feedshark is new for me. Also as per your comment I will take care regarding updates and I guess you are right with blogs having self pinging method. Useful info, I am sure many are unaware of it.
However, I would like to contact you via mail or IM so could you get back to my email, effort will be appreciated and I will be obliged to you, I need help!
Looking forward to your mail!
